Transport for Injured Employees. 22.16.1 Transport for injured employees – where the accident is work related and the injury sustained by the employee necessitates immediate removal to a hospital, or to a medical practitioner for medical attention and then to their residence or to a hospital, or to their residence (medical attention away from the residence not being required), the DHB is to provide or arrange for necessary transport, pay all reasonable expenses for meals and lodging, incurred on or on behalf of, the employee. 22.16.2 (i) Work-related Accidents - Where an employee is incapacitated as a result of a work accident, and that employee is on earnings related compensation, then the employee may request the employer who shall then supplement the employees, compensation by 20% of base salary during the period of incapacitation. This shall be debited against the employee’s sick leave. The employer may agree to reimburse the employee for treatment and other expenses or for financial disadvantage incurred as a result of a work related accident. This agreement will be on a case by case basis.
