Travel for Training. Employees who travel on a scheduled day off, Earned Rest Day or outside of their regular hours of work for the purposes of attending mandatory training, will be paid at the overtime rate. Mandatory Training is any training that the employee is required by the Company to attend. Apprentices who travel on a scheduled day off or outside of their regular hours of work for the purposes of attending Apprentice Period Training, will be paid straight time pay for all hours traveling to such training. Where reasonable, the Company shall arrange travel during regular work hours. In cases where the employee is involved in other training, travel time occurring outside of the employee’s regularly scheduled hours of work shall not be paid.
Travel for Training. ‌ 35.01 The City will post all available schools and training sessions. Any employee desiring to attend must request it in writing within the time period specified. In the event the employee requests training or to attend school, and his request is granted, and the employee at the time of the request for training did request a change in work schedule, the employee’s schedule shall be changed to comply with the amount of time needed to attend the training school. The employee shall be paid forty (40) hours of pay for each week while attending the training school. In the event the training or school is less than five (5) days, the employee shall be paid eight (8) or ten (10) hours as the case may be, for each day. Upon returning the employee shall complete a normally scheduled workweek. 35.02 For mandatory travel to training seminars, schooling or other similar activities beneficial to the City and outside regularly scheduled workdays, employees shall be paid. 35.03 Travel pay may also be paid for non-mandatory travel to schooling, seminars, and other similar training. . Any travel under this provision must be first approved by the Chief or their designee.
Travel for Training. Compensation associated with travel for training or representation of the Employer on official business shall be compensated per the Department of Labor and Industries, Employment Standards, FLSA, or whichever is most beneficial to the employee.

Travel for Training. When the Employer requires that a bargaining unit employee travel to any training opportunity during his normal work shift, the employee shall have all travel hours that would fall within his normal shift included in his hours worked during the work period in which such travel occurs.

For an employee who is actually driving (not riding) to the training, he will be paid his regular rate of pay or the overtime rate, as applicable; B. For employees who are traveling, but not driving, they will be paid three fourths (3/4) of their normal rate of pay for each hour traveled. However, traveling time will not be counted toward their daily or weekly overtime. 34.03 Travel pay may also be paid for non-mandatory travel to schooling, seminars, and other similar training if the estimated travel time exceeds three hours one way. Any travel under this provision must be first approved by the Chief or their designee.
