Common use of Tuition Assistance for Higher Education Clause in Contracts

Tuition Assistance for Higher Education. A fund shall be established for the purposes of reimbursing employees for tuition related expenses. Reimbursements shall be made for no more than seventy-five percent (75%) of actual tuition costs (books, materials, travel, etc. not included) for completion of classes in an accredited BSN, MSN, PhD, or Certified Developmental Disabilities Nurse curriculum or for tuition. The fund shall be supported by the Employer at a rate not to exceed two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00) per year per average FTEs in the Bargaining Unit. Unused portions of this fund at the end of a fiscal year shall revert to the Agency; however, the fund shall be supported by the Agency to the extent provided herein for both years of this Agreement. Should the fund be exhausted prior to the end of the fiscal year, the Agency shall not incur any additional liability. An employee receiving reimbursement pursuant to this section agrees to remain an employee of the Agency for at least two (2) years following receipt of the reimbursement.
