Unemployment Rate. The unemployment rate is calculated by dividing the number of unemployed individuals by the number of individuals in the labor force in the Metropolitan Statistical Area in which the mother was living in the month when she was interviewed.(Xxxxxxxx, 2015) State Median Income. This is a continuous variable indicating the average median income in each state in a given year in 2015 dollars. Median income data were drawn from the U.S. Census Bureau database.(United States Census Bureau, 2019) The state median income value has been adjusted to 2015 dollars and divided by 1000 for interpretability.

Unemployment Rate. The Parties will strive to reduce unemployment rates, focusing on skill development and job creation.
Unemployment Rate. The refined MLP will bring around 8,500 new employment opportunities, which will help improve the unemployment rate to a certain extent. This estimation is calculated from the working density ratio based on the figures provided in the Final Study Report of Comprehensive Feasibility Study for Minimum Option (CE15/94, SA no.2) prepared by Atkins & TDD in 2000. These jobs will mainly be emerged through commercial (office, retail, hotels etc), cultural and other leisure facilities. The refined MLP provides better employment opportunities related to small-scale businesses with enhanced water-front and tourist related small-scale business activities. It is anticipated to create more small-scale jobs from leisure and entertainment developments with variety of tourist-oriented activities, including waterfront related commercial activities, alfresco dining and kiosks as compared to the Task 2 proposals. The maintenance of the landscaped open spaces will also provide employment for lower-skilled workers.
