Unemployment Rate. The unemployment rate is calculated by dividing the number of unemployed individuals by the number of individuals in the labor force in the Metropolitan Statistical Area in which the mother was living in the month when she was interviewed.(Xxxxxxxx, 2015) State Median Income. This is a continuous variable indicating the average median income in each state in a given year in 2015 dollars. Median income data were drawn from the U.S. Census Bureau database.(United States Census Bureau, 2019) The state median income value has been adjusted to 2015 dollars and divided by 1000 for interpretability.

Unemployment Rate. The refined MLP will bring around 8,500 new employment opportunities, which will help improve the unemployment rate to a certain extent. This estimation is calculated from the working density ratio based on the figures provided in the Final Study Report of Comprehensive Feasibility Study for Minimum Option (CE15/94, SA no.2) prepared by Atkins & TDD in 2000.
