Union Activity During Working. Hours Employees shall, after giving appropriate notice to their supervisor, be allowed reasonable time off with pay during working hours to attend grievance hearings or hearings or meetings agreed to by the Employer, if such employees are entitled or required to attend such meetings by virtue of being Union representatives, stewards, witnesses, or grievants, and if such attendance does not significantly interfere with the Employer’s operations.

  • Communication during Parental Leave (a) Where an employee is on parental leave and a definite decision has been made to introduce significant change at the workplace, the employer shall take reasonable steps to:

  • PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS 25.01 The Employer shall provide information to the Union about the professional development activities provided by the Board.

  • Work During Vacation Should an employee who has commenced his scheduled vacation and agrees upon request by the Hospital to return to perform work during the vacation period, the employee shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times his basic straight time rate for all hours so worked. To replace the originally scheduled days on which such work was performed, the employee will receive one (1) vacation lieu day off for each day on which he has so worked.

  • Union Activity Each employee shall have the right to join and while off work or on official release time, assist the Union freely, without fear of penalty or reprisal, and the Employer shall assure that each employee shall be protected in the exercise of such right.

  • Rejection During Probation (a) The Employer may reject any probationary employee for just cause. A rejection during probation shall not be considered a dismissal for the purpose of Clause 10.4. The test of just cause for rejection shall be a test of suitability of the probationary employee for continued employment in the position to which they have been appointed, provided that the factors involved in suitability could reasonably be expected to affect work performance.
