Common use of Union Health and Safety Representatives Clause in Contracts

Union Health and Safety Representatives. ⚫ One (1) member (and one (1) alternate) of the Bargaining Unit shall be members of the University Central Safety Committee and if meetings, inspections, and University sponsored or approved safety seminars are held during working hours, the employee shall suffer no loss of pay. The Union shall notify the Employee Relations Manager of the name of its appointee and the alternate. Education & Training ⚫ No employee shall be required to work on any job or operate any piece of equipment until he/she has received proper training and instructions, and is informed by his/her supervisor of any safety hazards known to the Supervisor and is provided with any necessary safety equipment. Moreover, it is incumbent upon employees to report to their supervisors safety hazards known to them. ⚫ All employees will receive WHMIS training and any other training deemed necessary by the Manager of Occupational Health and Safety and the Central Safety Committee. ⚫ All education and training for employees will be arranged by the Manager of Occupational Health and Safety and the Central Safety Committee.
