Central Safety Committee. The County agrees that AFSCME may designate one (1) employee to serve on the Central Safety Committee.
Central Safety Committee. The County agrees that SEIU 521 may designate one worker to serve on the Central Safety Committee. Occupational health and safety are the mutual concern of the Employer, the Union and workers. Any workplace safety or health problem which is identified within the County should be directed to the supervisor, departmental Safety Committee or safety representative, County Safety Officer or the County's Central Safety Committee, as appropriate, for review and/or investigation. Options for resolution include, but are not limited to, immediate mitigation of the hazard/problem, direct investigation, and/or convening a labor/management committee specifically for the purpose of investigating and attempting to resolve the safety or health problem.
Central Safety Committee. (a) The parties agree that there will exist a Central Joint Health and Safety Committee (“Central Safety Committee” or “CSC”).
(b) The CSC shall:
(i) make recommendations in the development of health and safety policies and programs;
(ii) consider and expeditiously dispose of matters concerning health and safety raised by members of the committee;
(iii) participate in critical injury investigations and inspections pertaining to occupational health and safety;
(iv) co-operate with Ministry of Labour Inspectors;
(v) forward formal all recommendations to the Vice-President Human Resources.
(c) The CSC may request, from the Employer, information necessary to identify existing or potential hazards with respect to materials, processes, equipment or activities in the workplace.
(d) As per the Act, the CSC has access to all government and Employer studies and tests relating to the health and safety of employees in the workplace.
(e) The CSC meets on a quarterly basis during regular working hours, and if other meetings are necessary the committee shall meet as required during regular working hours or outside those hours.
(f) The CSC will be structured in accordance with the Act and its members will have the power and authority specified therein. There shall be at least the same number of Worker Members as Management Members at the CSC meetings.
(g) The Employer shall ensure that minutes are taken of all CSC meetings and that copies are provided to all members of the Committee. Administrative Support for the Committee shall be provided by the Employer.
Central Safety Committee. A Central Safety Committee shall be established consisting of one (1) safety xxxxxxx from each Branch Safety Committee, as elected by the CUPE Local 1004 members in the Branch, and two (2) Union appointees who shall be employees or members of CUPE Local 1004, and an equal number of representatives appointed by the Employer. The Central Safety Committee shall discuss matters relating to occupational health and safety and shall make recommendations to the City Engineer or designate.
Central Safety Committee. Pursuant to Section 5-26.03 of said Article, the County agrees to appoint one (1) member to the Central Safety Committee as may hereafter be designated by the Unions.
