Common use of Unit Grievance Clause in Contracts

Unit Grievance. The Unit Executive may initiate a grievance by: i) Giving a written statement of grievance to the Director of Education. The statement of grievance shall state the incident(s) giving rise to the grievance, identify by specific reference the provision(s) of this agreement alleged to be violated and shall indicate the relief sought. ii) The Director of Education shall respond in writing, stating the Board's position, within ten (10) working days of receipt of the statement of grievance. This article shall not be used to bypass Step One of the Individual Grievance Procedure if the incident giving rise to the grievance involves one individual teacher and could have been grieved by this individual.
