Length of School Year. 4.6.1 Except where reduced by any lawful decision of the employer to close the school to students, the length of the school year for each school shall be determined according to the requirement that schools are required to be open for at least 380 half days in any one calendar year. 4.6.2 The normal teaching load of teachers in respect of any one year is therefore related to that requirement.

Length of School Year. The Charter Holder shall provide instruction for no less than the number of days required by statute or as stated in the Application, whichever is greater, and meet the minimum number of hours of instruction required by statute. The Charter Holder must provide instruction as stated in this paragraph within the State of Arizona's fiscal year that begins July 1st and ends June 30th.
Length of School Year. 5.01.1 Length of the school year shall be one hundred eighty-one (181) pupil days and one hundred eighty-five (185) teacher days. Teachers shall be employed as follows: 181 days of classroom instruction, two days of orientation and professional development prior to the start of the students' school year, one unrestricted unpaid professional development day (NEOEA Day not to be counted in the 185 day school year), one records/staff development day, and one day at the end of the school year to complete all records as requested by the respective principal, in the building, to which the teacher is assigned. On orientation day, two and one-half (2-1/2) hours of time shall be allotted to the administration between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to conduct meetings at the building level with certificated/licensed personnel. The remainder of the day shall be teacher directed classroom and instructional preparation.

Teacher Duty Days: The number of duty days will be 190 for returning teachers and 193 for teachers new to the School District, inclusive of the following five paid holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the following Friday, Presidents’ Day, and Memorial Day.
