Unscheduled Absence. The following notification standards shall be used to determine whether an absence is scheduled or unscheduled: A. Absences of less than five (5) days — unscheduled if taken with less than forty-eight (48) hours advance notice. B. Absences of five (5) days or longer — unscheduled if taken with less than fourteen (14) days advance notice. Unscheduled time off will be considered excessive if it occurs more than six (6) times during a year or more than three percent (3%) of the employee’s work time.
