Upholstery. The upholstering or re-upholstering of any furniture, or item of furniture, bedding, pelmets and mattress bases.
Upholstery. This will be of first class standard workmanship with webbing no-sag springs, coiled springs, padding and filling as specified on drawing. Covering fabrics will be shown tufted and corded as shown on the drawing and as approved by the employer.
Upholstery. (A) smooth and tight, no puckering of fabric;
(B) be seamless where possible or have double stitched seams located on the non-contact areas of the furniture or sealed;
(C) upholstered furniture will be covered with fabrics that are fluid-resistant, non-porous and can withstand cleaning with industrial grade chemicals;
(D) interior components seat: Tight cushion with poly wrapped Dacron foam core with twenty-nine (29) kg per cubic meter (1.8 lb. per cubic foot) density encased in polyurethane foam and wrapped polyester fibres. Polyurethane seat foam has 44 lb. indentation load deflection and forty-eight (48) kg per cubic meter (3 lb. per cubic foot) density;
(E) interior components back: Tight cushion with poly wrapped Dacron foam core with 1.8 lb. per cubic foot density encased in polyurethane foam and wrapped polyester fibres. Polyurethane seat foam has 11.3 kg (25 lb.) indentation load deflection and forty-eight (48) kg per cubic meter (3 lb. per cubic foot) density;
(F) be impermeable to water and quick-drying;
(G) seating will have removable seat cushions for cleaning and/or “clean-out” spaces between the seat and back for lounge seating applications;
(H) be anti-microbial, and/or have anti-microbial inhibitor technology;
(I) have a good abrasion rating for high-use areas (with a minimum of 100,000 DR (ASTM D4157-02 Wyzenbeek Test Method);
(J) have a high-rating for colour-fastness, exceeding forty (40) hours (AATCC Method 16A);
(K) be stain-resistant;
(L) be latex-free;
(M) have low VOC’s;
(N) contain no heavy metals;
(O) have no HFR’s and/or PFC’s; and
(P) have limited use of PVC’s, avoiding use of PVC’s where possible.
Upholstery. Additional work, which may not be apparent when the estimate is provided, will be advised to the client on discovery, and a course of action agreed. This includes frame repairs, which are hidden by upholstery.

Cuts or tears detected after signing for receipt of upholstered products are not covered. Foam is warranted by the foam manufacturer for a period of 2 years COM: Venue Industries does not warrant quality, wearability, or workability of materials supplied by the customer (COM). Product appearance (seams, bunching, puddling, etc.) can be negatively affected by the characteristics (thickness, elasticity, etc.) of the COM material. Venue Industries does not warrant against any cosmetic defect caused by specific characteristics of customer provided materials. Upholstery. Each side of the innerspring unit is to be covered with a 2 oz. per square foot bonded polyester pad measuring 36” x 81”. Xxxxx pre-compressed of fire-retardant cotton felt consisting of one-unit size batt per side shall be placed over the polyester pad. A 1” x 40” x 84” co-polymer foam topper shall be placed over the cotton felt on each side. The density of the co-polymer foam is to be a minimum of 1.5 lbs. per cubic foot. Indentation load deflection (25% ILD @ 4 inch) to be 34-37 lbs. Compression modules to be 2.4 minimum; Hysteresis loss to be 25% maximum; Foam must pass California Technical Bulletin #117 flammability standards; An inner roll edge shall me made by enfolding the foam topper around the edge of the polyester and placing the cover, flanged with 2 oz. per square yard over the topper and securing the cover by hog ringing the flange to the outside coils of the innerspring unit. A fire barrier consisting of a knitted fiberglass/modacrylic/polyester fabric shall be placed over all the upholstery in such a way that it completely encapsulates the entire mattress forming a full fire barrier. The ends of the barrier shall be completely closed with FR thread. Or a laminated, needle punch FR barrier with Kevlar thread may be used. Fire barriers containing chemical additives or flame- retardant additives are unacceptable. Flame retardant chemicals: Any chemical or chemical compound for which a functional use is to resist or inhibit the spread of fire. Flame retardant chemicals include, but are not limited to, halogenated, phosphorous-based, nitrogen-based, and nanoscale flame retardants, flame retardant chemicals listed as “designated chemicals” pursuant to Section 105440 of the Health and Safety Code, and any chemical or chemical compound for which “flame retardant” appears on the substance Safety Data Sheet (SDS) pursuant to Section 1910.1200(g) of Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Definition as used in Section 19094 of the California Business and Professions Code (SB 1019). Materials Covered: Components of the mattress that are covered by this definition including the ticking/outer cover, core/filling materials/batting, fire barrier fabric, and tape/thread.
Upholstery. Fully upholstered products shall use molded foam, no loose cushions. Upholstered task and guest seating shall be of high density foam with a minimum of 2.5 density. Products shall not have corded edges or tufted surfaces that come in contact with the user.
N. FINISH
Upholstery. Leather: can be cleaned with a mild saddle soap using care as color may darken. Vinyl can be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution or good grade automotive vinyl cleaner. Do not allow stains to set. Fabrics are quite varied; it is best to determine the composition of the fabric then clean with a substance recommended for that composition; the fabric source would have recommendations for each pattern.
