Common use of USE OF PAID TIME OFF AND SCHEDULING Clause in Contracts

USE OF PAID TIME OFF AND SCHEDULING. Employees shall be eligible to take paid leave in one-hour increments after their initial probationary period. For Paid Time Off (PTO), employees must submit leave requests at least two (2) weeks prior to the date the requested paid leave commences. In the event that too many employees request paid leave for the same time period and the Employer cannot ensure safe client coverage, leave approval shall be granted by seniority within the office to which the employee is assigned. PTO may be used for absence due to the illness in the immediate family, once notification to the Employer is given. At the request of an employee and at discretion of the Employer, the Employer will pay the employee for paid leave in advance of the leave. Such requests shall be made in writing of the payroll cutoff date the requested leave commences.
