VACANCIES AND PROMOTION. The parties to this agreement are committed to the principles of diversity and agree to advocate for employment opportunities consistent with the representative workforce strategies of the parties.
VACANCIES AND PROMOTION. Section A. Prior to Initial Hiring No person may be hired by the employer unless selected by means of an approved recruitment procedure and no person may be considered as an applicant or employed who does not have the appropriate qualifications for the position.
Section B. Notice of Vacancies Posting and publication of notice of vacancy shall be accomplished in a manner consistent with the requirements of the employer's nondiscriminatory recruitment procedure. A copy of all bargaining unit vacancy notices shall be sent to the bargaining agent at the same time as such notices are posted.
VACANCIES AND PROMOTION. Section 1. Whenever the Employer determines that a permanent vacancy is to be filled, notice of such vacancy shall be posted on bulletin boards in all departments where bargaining unit employees work for a period of five (5) work days. During the posting period, anyone wishing to apply for the vacant position shall do so by submitting a written application to the Employer. The Employer shall not be obligated to consider any applications submitted after the posting date or from employees who do not meet the minimum qualifications for the job, or who are in a probationary period.
Section 2. Nothing in this article shall be construed to limit or prevent the Employer from temporarily filling a vacant position pending the Employer's determination to fill the vacancy on a permanent basis or reconsidering its decision to fill the vacancy at any time. The length of a temporary transfer shall be governed by Article 27,

VACANCIES AND PROMOTION. The employer shall post a notice of any vacancy that the employer wants to fill for a minimum of five (5) consecutive working days.
VACANCIES AND PROMOTION. The parties support permanent employees who moves to a temporary position that is in a higher classification, by protecting their rights in their permanent position. The parties have also agreed to support permanent employees who move to a temporary position that is lateral or who demotes to a temporary position that is lower, by protecting their rights in their permanent position for a period of up to twenty-four (24) months after which they must return to their permanent position. Employees who return to their permanent position after a temporary position will not be able to bid on another temporary position for a period of two (2) years unless the temporary position is a promotion. Employees who do not return to their permanent position at the end of the temporary position or within two years, whichever the lesser, will lose their right to return to the permanent position and the position will be posted permanent to provide other employees with the opportunity to have a permanent position. This change is intended to reduce in the number of temporary employees and the internal job churn.
