Common use of Vacation Accrual Upon Layoff/Reemployment Clause in Contracts

Vacation Accrual Upon Layoff/Reemployment. ‌ An employee who has been laid off from County service because a position is abolished, or because of a lack of work or lack of funds, and who is re-employed within the period provided for restoration or re-employment, shall accrue vacation benefits at the same rate their benefits accrued prior to the date of layoff. Continuous County service immediately prior to the date of layoff shall be added to future service after re-employment for purposes of calculating years of service, pursuant to this Section.
