Vacation Picks. Employees will be notified, in writing, in the first two (2) weeks of October of each year how much time will be granted as well as the amount carried over from the previous year. If the Employee has a “break- over” anniversary during that year, their total vacation granted will be a sum of the partial leaves prorated. Before the third (3) week of November each year, each shift commander will identify dates for priority vacation selection. Employees must be present on the dates identified for vacation selection unless they are excused by the shift commander. If the Employee will not be available on the dates identified for the priority selection, the Employee will provide the shift commander the Employee’s selections in writing no later than forty-eight (48) hours before the selection process gets started. There will be two (2) ways to select vacation leave as described below:
Vacation Picks. All employees shall bid based on classification seniority for vacation picks annually in November. The most senior person shall be allowed to bid for two blocks of time during the first round of picks and the remainder of that time in the following rounds. A block of time shall be continuous time off from one to three weeks of annual accrued vacation. The department head reserves the right to determine in advance the number of employees off per unit and deny requests based upon operational needs.
Vacation Picks. All Grade Four (4) and Five (5) hourly employees will be combined at each work location; and, using Equipment Department seniority only, a maximum of fifteen percent (15%) of these people will be permitted off during any vacation period (except for the months of January, November and December when a maximum of fifteen percent minus one (15% - 1) employee will be permitted off). In addition to the above, one (1) salaried employee and up to two (2) vehicle serviceman or hostlers, depending on staffing needs, will be permitted off during any given vacation period.
Vacation Picks. (A) An Employee who has received approval of his/her vacation request, and is subsequently reassigned, shall not lose his/her right to that approved vacation period.
Vacation Picks. The vacation pick process will begin the Monday of the week of October 15 each year. Bargaining unit members will have the opportunity to select two (2) separate vacation picks of not less than twenty-four (24) and up to eighty (80)-consecutive hours. This vacation selection is defined as a vacation pick.

Vacation Picks. In the scheduling of vacations for employees, subject to the vacation policy and procedures of the employer, the employer agrees that vacation picks for employees covered by this Agreement shall be, by seniority in the employee's Civil Service Title.
Vacation Picks. Drivers and Maintenance employees will choose their vacation weeks by seniority in December for the following year. The Company shall establish how many employees can be off per week by category. An employee must have accrued and available paid time off/vacation time in his or her accrued bank in order to pick a vacation and/or to take vacation time off.
Vacation Picks. There will be no limit on vacation picks for Lieutenants. A minimum of six employees may be on vacation at one time and of those six, a maximum of two (2) may be Captains. Vacation picks as they are accrued. Employees may split the two weeks of vacation in accordance with departmental policy. Vacation will start on the first day of four days off. Pay back of trades will be increased to one year provided that all trades must balance at the end of the calendar year.
