Vessel Strike Avoidance Measures Clause Samples

The Vessel Strike Avoidance Measures clause establishes requirements for vessels to take specific actions to prevent collisions with marine animals, particularly protected species such as whales. Typically, this clause mandates that vessels reduce speed, maintain vigilant lookouts, and alter course when marine mammals are detected in the vicinity. By implementing these measures, the clause aims to minimize the risk of injury or death to marine wildlife, thereby ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting responsible maritime operations.
