Common use of Voluntary Dues Deduction Clause in Contracts

Voluntary Dues Deduction. During the term of this Agreement for those employees who have voluntarily executed payroll deduction authorization cards which are delivered to the Human Resources Department, Employer will deduct from their pay the monthly Union dues and initiation fees as designated by the Union and shall promptly remit any and all amounts deducted. The Union agrees to indemnify and save Employer harmless against any and all claims, suits, expenses, and other forms of liability that may arise out of or by reason of action taken in reliance upon such individual authorization cards or by reason of the Employer’s compliance with the provisions of this Article. Employees shall have the right to voluntarily withdraw the payroll deduction authorization at any time by providing notice of said withdrawal to Employer and the Union in writing.
