Common use of Wage Entitlement Clause in Contracts

Wage Entitlement. (1) Casual employees shall be paid in accordance with the wage schedule. (2) Casual employees shall move to the next increment step upon completion of the annual full time equivalent hours (1950 hours) worked with the Employer. (3) A casual employee hired having less than one (1) year’s experience (1950 hours) shall be placed at the first step of the increment scale. (4) A regular employee who terminates employment and is re-employed by the same employer as a casual employee within thirty (30) calendar days shall retain the same increment step attained as a regular employee and be credited with the appropriate hours worked at that step. (5) When a casual employee applies for and received a regular position in the same facility in which the employee has been employed, the employee shall either retain the same increment step attained as a casual or be placed at the increment step which recognized previous experience in accordance with the provisions of Article 44 (Previous Experience), whichever is higher, and shall advance to the next increment step pursuant to Article 10.01.
