WILDLIFE OPENINGS. Some Weyerhaeuser regions may allow the construction of permanent wildlife openings to be established at the time of final harvest. A Wildlife Opening Application Form must be submitted and approved in writing by the Weyerhaeuser authorized representative. The form is located on the xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx website. The form will provide details of Weyerhaeuser’s expectations pertaining to wildlife openings. Once established, the Lessee will be expected to maintain the wildlife opening until the surrounding plantation is final harvested again (typically 27 years). The expense of the wildlife opening, to be determined by Weyerhaeuser, will be added to the overall price of the current Lease. Rates for wildlife openings may vary from region to region.

WILDLIFE OPENINGS. Maintain existing wildlife openings and/or establish new openings following timber removal. Currently cultivated areas may be replaced by newly established areas or converted to a permanent crop which requires little maintenance. Maintenance activities include mowing, disking, fertilizing, and/or planting. Maintenance requirements vary from 0 to 248 acres each fall and from 0 to 160 acres each spring. Work will be accomplished in accordance with standard agricultural practices. The contractor may be required to take a maximum of two soil tests per plot prior to each season and report the results to the COR to determine fertilization needs.

Such work to be paid at single time rates. Productive work will continue in areas not so affected.
