Winter Shift for Highways Maintenance Crews. (a) The Union and the Employer recognize that the implementation for highway maintenance winter shifts is largely dependent on winter conditions and that shifts may have to be implemented on short notice. (b) However, it is agreed that wherever possible the negotiations of these shift schedules pursuant to Article 14.2 should be undertaken at least forty-five (45) days prior to anticipated commencement and that fifteen (15) days should be provided for any sign up and selection process which is involved. Sign up must be completed by October 1st.
