Common use of Work on Holiday Clause in Contracts

Work on Holiday. Any nurse who is required to work on a holiday designated in 9.1 (excluding Personal Holidays) shall be paid one and one-half (1 1/2) times their regular rate of pay for all hours worked. Full-time nurses shall also receive up to eight (8) hours holiday pay. Part-time nurses will receive one (1) hour of holiday pay for each hour worked on the holiday to a maximum of eight (8) hours’ pay. Any overtime hours will be paid at two (2) times the nurse’s regular rate of pay. Nurses working the second shift on Christmas Eve shall receive time and one-half (1 1/2) the regular rate of pay.

Any nurse who is Full-time and part-time nurses required to work on a holiday designated in 9.1 (excluding Personal Holidays) the following holidays shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 1-1/2) times their regular rate of pay for all hours worked. Full-time nurses shall also receive up to eight (8) hours holiday pay. Part-time nurses will receive one (1) hour of holiday pay for each hour worked on the holiday to a maximum of eight (8) hours’ pay. Any overtime hours will be paid at two (2) times the nurse’s regular normal rate of pay: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Nurses working All holidays, except Christmas Eve, shall be defined as all hours between 2300 the second shift on day before the holiday and 2300 the day of the holiday. Christmas Eve shall receive time be defined as all hours between 1500 and one-half (1 1/2) the regular rate of pay2300.
