2. Effective July 1, 2016, the parties agree that the District shall increase the current 2015-2016 salary schedule by 2.74% of bargaining unit members currently paid based on a 183-day work year. This increase in the salary is to compensate the bargaining unit members for five (5) additional professional develop days. The total number of work days (including the eight PD days) for fiscal year 2016-2017 and subsequent years shall be 188 work days. There will be eight (8) non-teaching schedule days designated for professional development. As recommended and collaboratively planned by the Joint Alisal Teachers Association/Educational Services Professional Development Committee, the eight professional days shall include consist of:
a. Four and one-half (4.5) days of District-designed professional development, and
b. Two and half (2.5) collaboratively-designed, site-based days to support instruction in the three (3) initiative areas identified by the Professional Development Committee.
c. One (1) day will be for classroom set-up at the beginning of the school year after a 30-sixty (60) minute uninterrupted lunch periodmeeting with an agenda developed by site administration.
3. Teachers All site certificated staff shall spend the work day on campus except for lunch, unless excused by the site administrator or designee. The site administrator or designee shall have no less the authority to excuse unit members earlier than 200 minutes the end of planning time per regular work weekthe workday. Each regular request for an early dismissal shall be individually considered by the administrator; however this will not be precedent setting.
4. The start time of the instructional day at each school site shall be established by District management with the approval of the Board. In addition to the above requirements of A1 and A2, teachers shall be responsible for other professional obligations, which include, but are not limited to, attendance at District wide meetings, open house, back to school night, program development, professional growth activities, and other non-weekend and typical paid assignments as determined by district/site management. Parent- teacher conferences held outside of the workday will not count as part of the three (3) hours of additional duties. However, such additional duties shall include not less exceed three (3) hours per month. Any unit members required to spend more than twenty three (203) minutes of uninterrupted planning timehours per month on such obligations shall be compensated at the hourly rate as outlined in Article 6-A.
5. Effective July 1, 2016, the work year for bargaining unit members currently working 183 days will increase by five (5) additional professional development days to a 188-day work year.

Workday/Work Year. B HOURS - A. Upon request, the Board will attempt to provide school time for the purpose of Association sponsored in-service faculty meetings if it does not disrupt already scheduled duties or meetings.
B. The maximum length of Board shall schedule parent-teacher conference days. If such conference days are longer than the members' workday regular school hours, compensatory time shall be given.
C. The contractual year is based on 183 days. The normal teacher day shall be no longer than seven (7) hours, thirty hours and ten (3010) minutes. The day shall include a minimum of thirty (30) minutes uninterrupted duty-free lunch period. Members Bus duty shall be considered part of the teacher day. When a teacher has bus duty in the morning, their ending time shall be an equal number of minutes early. When a teacher has bus duty in the afternoon, their beginning time shall be an equal number of minutes late. This provision shall not apply when there is a scheduled meeting as per Article 7. However, the Association recognizes that teachers have traditionally been required to perform some duties beyond the established workday and that teachers will continue to perform such duties. Building or district staff meetings shall not be present counted in their assigned school building(scomputing teacher workday. Within the contractual year, two (2) seven (7) hours, thirty (30) minutesdays shall be given for professional growth in-service and one day for teacher records. In a case of extenuating circumstances, the member may request a reasonable accommodation in his/her schedule. Members may be required to report twenty (20) minutes before One day at the beginning of each school year shall be dedicated for teacher preparation with no scheduled meetings or trainings.
D. Faculty meetings may be held for the instructional daypurpose of conducting business that contributes to the overall operation of the school.
1. The administration Building faculty meetings may extend the workday beyond the limits stated in this section for staff meetings be scheduled on a regular basis not to exceed one per month. Staff will be expected to attend such meetings. Such extensions normally shall not exceed one (1) hourper month during the school year and with forty-eight (48) hour notice. Additional staff Special meetings may be calledcalled by the building’s administration if an emergency situation should occur, but attendance will and it is not reasonable to wait to transact action or discussion until the next regular meeting. In case of prior commitment, teachers may be required outside to attend special meetings unless excused by the teacher building principal.
2. Attendance by the faculty at regularly scheduled meetings is required. Staff assigned to two buildings shall attend faculty meetings on alternating basis. The staff member and building principal shall establish a rotation.
3. A meeting agenda will be released to faculty members twenty-four (24) hours prior to a regular scheduled faculty meeting. Faculty members who wish to place an item on the agenda should submit it to the building principal the day prior to the regular meeting.
4. A general staff meeting in the school district shall be called and held on the same day only if deemed necessary by the superintendent.
5. In addition to regular building faculty meetings, no more than two (2) meetings, defined as DLT, BLT, and special education faculty, per month shall be scheduled. Additional compensation for said meetings shall be a maximum of thirty dollars ($30.00) for any meeting during a prep period or beyond the scheduled workday. The administration may extend the workday beyond the limits stated in this section for in-service programs and conferences with the administration, students, or parents. Such extensions normally Meetings shall not exceed be no longer than one (1) hourhour in length.
