Working During Emergency Closure. If the University enacts an Emergency Closure, as defined in the University Class Cancellation and Closing Procedure, employees shall be paid for those days or partial days the University is closed, provided the closure occurs on a normal working day on which the employee is scheduled to work. Those employees who are required to work, as directed by their Supervisor, during a period where the University has closed operations are entitled to equivalent time off at a later day, but not to overtime pay. The authority and responsibility for cancelling classes and/or closing the University rests with the Vice-President, Finance and Administration in Peterborough and/or the Head, Trent University Durham. Emergency closings will be firm and not left to the discretion of individuals or departments.
