WORKING OUT OF CLASSIFICATION PAY. If an employee is directed by the Chief, or his designee, to perform the duties of an employee absent from regularly assigned duties in a higher rank on a temporary basis, the employee’s pay rate shall be increased by 4% above their present salary. The higher rate will remain in effect for the entire time spent filling the vacancy, provided the employee spends a minimum of four (4) hours per shift performing the duties of the higher rank.
