Work Out of Class. When an employee is expressly assigned to perform substantially all of the duties of a position allocated to a different class that is temporarily unoccupied and the work-out-of-class assignment exceeds ten (10) consecutive work days in duration, the employee shall be paid for all such hours at the employee's current salary when assigned to work in a class which is a transfer or demotion. For a class which is a promotion, an employee shall receive an increase to the minimum rate of the new class or at least one (1) step higher than the employee's current salary, whichever is greater.
Work Out of Class. When an employee is expressly assigned to perform substantially all of the duties of a position allocated to a different class that is temporarily unoccupied and the work-out-of-class assignment exceeds ten (10) consecutive work days in duration, the employee shall be paid for all such hours at the employee's current salary when assigned to work in a class which is a transfer or demotion. For a class which is a promotion, an employee shall receive an increase to the minimum rate of the new class or at least one (1) step higher than the employee's current salary, whichever is greater. If an employee is assigned to work out of class but does not meet the ten (10) consecutive work day standard, and within five (5) working days the employee is subsequently assigned to work out of class to the same assignment, the previous time served on work out of class will count towards meeting the ten (10) consecutive work day standard. When an employee is assigned to serve in a class for which the employee is on a layoff list, the employee shall be paid as provided above or the maximum step previously achieved by the employee, whichever is greater. If the Appointing Authority determines to make a work-out-of-class assignment of six (6) or more consecutive months to a higher class represented by the Union, the Appointing Authority shall appoint the most senior capable and available employee among or within classes and among or within work areas as determined by the Appointing Authority.
Work Out of Class. Employees assigned to work out-of-classification in accordance with Article 26-- Work Out-of-Classification, Section 10, shall receive holiday pay at the higher rate of pay, if the holiday falls during his/her work out-of-classification assignment.
Work Out of Class. When a supervisor is expressly assigned to perform substantially all of the duties of a position allocated to a different class that is temporarily unoccupied and the work out of class assignment exceeds ten (10) consecutive work days in duration, the supervisor shall be paid for all such hours at the supervisor's current salary when assigned to work in a lower or equal class or at a rate within a higher range which is equal to the minimum rate for the higher class or at least one (1) step higher than the supervisor's current salary, whichever is greater. When a supervisor is assigned to serve in a class for which he/she is on a layoff list, the supervisor shall be paid as provided above or the maximum step previously achieved by the supervisor, whichever is greater.
Work Out of Class. When an employee is temporarily assigned by Management in writing, which may include e-mail, to perform the principal duties of a higher level position for a minimum period of one (1) working day, he/she shall be compensated at a salary which represents at least a five percent (5%) increase beyond the employee’s current step but not to exceed the maximum of the range for the higher classification. Said increase shall be effective as of the first day of the assignment.
Work Out of Class. Employees assigned to work out-of-classification in accordance with Article 26 Section 10- -Work Out-of-Classification shall receive holiday pay at the higher rate of pay, if the holiday falls during their work out-of- classification assignment. ARTICLE 58T--HOLIDAYS (Temporary Employees)
Section 1. Any temporary employee who works a holiday as defined in Article 58, Section 1 shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 ½) for all hours worked on the holiday.
Section 2. A full-time or part-time temporary employee who is not scheduled to work a holiday that falls on the employee’s scheduled workday will receive up to eight (8) hours of holiday pay. Eligibility and the appropriate rate of pay shall be consistent with Article 58, Section 4. Nothing in this Section requires the Agency to schedule an employee for more hours than they would normally work in a week.
Section 3. Any temporary employee who works a partial shift on a holiday as defined in Article 58, Section 1 shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1½) for all hours worked on the holiday. In addition, the temporary employee will receive holiday pay for the remainder of their regularly scheduled shift to equal the amount they would have received under Section 2, up to eight (8) hours.

Work Out of Class. Employees in certain work-out-of-classification assignments may be eligible for additional compensation as provided by Article 12.8 in this Agreement.

When a nurse is expressly assigned to perform all of the duties of a position allocated to a different classification that is temporarily unoccupied for reasons other than vacation or short periods of sick leave, and such assignment exceeds ten (10) consecutive work days in duration, the nurse will be paid for all such hours at the nurse's current salary when assigned to work in a lower class or equal class, or when assigned to work in a higher class, at a rate within the higher range which is equal to the minimum rate for the higher class or one (1) step higher than the nurse's current salary, whichever is greater. No work out of class assignment shall exceed beyond twelve (12) months.

For a class which is a promotion, a teacher shall receive an increase to the minimum rate of the new class or at least one (1) step higher than the teacher’s current salary, whichever is greater. When a teacher is on a layoff list, the teacher shall be paid as provided above or the maximum step previously achieved by the teacher, whichever is greater. No work out of class assignment shall extend beyond twelve (12) months.
