Common use of Year-end/Summer Grievance Clause in Contracts

Year-end/Summer Grievance. a. In the event a grievance is not concluded by the end of the school year, or is filed at such time that it cannot be processed through all the steps of this grievance procedure by the end of the school year, the remaining time limits set forth herein may be reduced or extended by mutual agreement. b. If the involved parties are not available during the summer to meet filing and/or processing deadlines, the grievance shall be extended to the following school year with applicable timelines commencing the first day the grievant reports to work. However, no such grievance will be considered unless a written statement of intent to file has been presented to the immediate supervisor prior to the end of the school year.
