A casual definition

A casual means a Doctor classified as a HMO, MO or SMO and who is engaged in relieving work or work of a casual nature, but does not include a Doctor who could properly be classified as a full-time or part-time Doctor under clauses 17 and 18.
A casual. Member shall mean a person who does not possess qualifications in accordance with 3.06 and 16.09 employed by the Board on an emergency basis to replace Members absent due to illness, vacation or approved leave of absence where no permanent or temporary member is available. The Bargaining Unit President and the Executive Officer Human Resources Services will develop and monitor a process form employing unqualified members. Casual Members shall have access to all the provisions of the Collective Agreement excluding articles 14, 16, 17, 18, 20, 24, 26, 27, 28 and 33 unless otherwise specifically provided for within the article.
A casual means a person who is employed temporarily by the day, six hours or half-day upon work of a kind similar to that usually done by employees as part of their duty.

  • A casual employee shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work.
