A Casual. SEASONAL PART TIME EMPLOYEE - is an Employee who is hired to regularly work not more than twenty-four (24) hours within a seven (7) day period Saturday to Friday performing work of the Bargaining Unit. Casual/Seasonal Part Time Employees are hired to either work an irregular number of hours week to week, or to work Part Time hours but for a term, season or other limited period of time. It is expressly understood that Casual/Seasonal Part Time Employees shall not be guaranteed a specified number of hours per week and hours of work may not be the same as Full Time Employees. Casual/Seasonal Part Time Employees shall be called into work/scheduled as required. An Employee will be designated as either Casual, or Seasonal in his/her Offer Letter of Employment/Promotion, and his/her classification will be stated therein. If the Employee is denoted Seasonal, his/her expected Employment term will also be stated in his/her Offer Letter. A copy of the Offer Letter will be forwarded to the Secretary of the Union. The Union will also be advised of the Employee’s initial Reporting Depot.

A Casual. Team Member who transfers to regular full-time or part-time employment with the Employer shall be credited with the following entitlements earned during their casual period of employment provided not more than six (6) months have elapsed since they last worked for the Employer:
A Casual employee may apply for a full-time position with Xxxxx's should a vacancy occur as long as the casual is able to perform the duties required or is prepared to undertake training to acquire the skills required to fill the vacant position in a period acceptable to Xxxxx's.
A Casual. Occasional Teacher who reports for a full-day placement as a result of an error on the part of the Board shall be paid a full day's pay for reporting as required.

A Casual. Part Time Employee may regularly work Full Time Employee hours as described in paragraph 2.01(i) of this Agreement for a period of up to six (6) consecutive months. Any period of absence of more than six (6) months will be filled in accordance with clause 2.03, for the duration of the leave, subject to a suitable candidate being available to fill the vacancy. (b) In the event that the Employer elects to post a full time job vacancy, in accordance with paragraph (a) of this Clause, then the incumbent Casual/Part Time Employee may continue to work Full Time Employee hours until the vacancy is filled, and in such case the Employee shall at all times remain a Casual/Part Time Employee and shall not thereby become eligible for any Full Time Employee benefits or entitlements. (a) All part time hours of work available will be distributed in the first instance by availability and, in the second instance, in accordance with the service list. (b) For the purposes of this clause, the Employer will allow each officer a minimum of 15 minutes to respond to the offer before the shift can be assigned to the next readily available officer.

  • Casual a) Casual or extra employees shall be those employees hired for extra or relief work for periods of up to one (1) month. Such employees shall be paid at the rates provided in this Agreement and will be guaranteed not less than four (4) hours work on each day which they are employed. b) A casual employee shall be entitled to a combined Statutory, Annual Holiday Pay and pay in lieu of benefits at a rate of twelve percent (12%) of gross earnings. In addition, the Employer shall pay premium contributions in accordance with Article 11.06.

  • Personal Business Leave Unit members shall receive a total of three (3) work days per year with no loss in salary that may be used for personal business. Unit members employed on or after February 1 shall receive one (1) work day of personal business leave. Effective July 1, 2006, unused personal business leave days may be accumulated up to no greater than five (5) days. On July 1 of each year any personal business days in excess of five (5) will be converted to sick leave days. Personal business leave may be requested, with at least three (3) work days advance notice, through the appropriate principal or department head who shall not require a reason for the leave. If, however, an unforeseen circumstance requires the member’s absence which could not be approved three days in advance, the reason for the absence shall be stated and the principal or department head may, at his/her discretion, approve the absence as a day of personal business leave. Personal business leave may be denied when, in the judgment of the principal or supervisor, the member’s absence would impair the educational process. Personal business leave shall not be taken immediately before or immediately after a holiday or weekday when school is closed on the master calendar, or on an in-service day for teachers, or at the beginning (first five scheduled work days) or the end of the school year (last five scheduled work days). If, however, a circumstance requires the member’s absence on one or more of the foregoing days, the member may request use of personal business leave through the principal. The principal or supervisor may, at his/her discretion, approve the absence as a day of personal business leave. In normal circumstances a member shall not use more than three (3) consecutive personal business days at one time. Exceptions to the foregoing restrictions on days to be used for personal business leave may be made by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for circumstances which require the member’s absence on these days.

  • Casual Labour 19.1.1 A casual employee is an employee employed on an occasional basis and whose work pattern is not regular and systematic. When a person is engaged for casual employment the employee will be informed in writing that the employee is to be employed as a casual, the job to be performed, the classification level, the actual or likely length of engagement including number of hours to be worked per week, and the relevant rate of pay. 19.1.2 A casual employee shall be entitled to all the applicable rates and conditions of employment prescribed in this Agreement except annual leave, personal leave, parental leave, jury service and public holidays. 19.1.3 On each occasion a casual employee is required to attend work the employee shall be entitled to payment for a minimum of four hours work plus the relevant fares and travel allowance. 19.1.4 A casual employee for working ordinary hours shall be paid 125 percent of the hourly rate prescribed in this Agreement for the employees’ classification. 19.1.5 A casual employee required to work overtime or weekend shall be entitled to the relevant penalty rates prescribed in this Agreement provided that: Where the relevant penalty rate is time and a half the employee shall be paid 175 percent of the hourly rate prescribed in this Agreement for the employee’s classification and where the relevant penalty rate is double time the employee shall be paid 225 percent of the hourly rate prescribed in this Agreement for the employee's classification. 19.1.6 A casual employee required to work on a public holiday shall be paid 275 percent of the hourly rate prescribed in this Agreement for the employee's classification. 19.1.7 Termination of all casual employment shall require one hours notice on either side or the payment or forfeiture of one hours pay, as the case may be.

  • Business Leave Each teacher shall be allowed five (5) days per year non-accumulative, deducted from sick leave allowance, for employee absence due to emergency, business, professional, household, or personal matters that cannot be attended to outside of working hours. Prior approval must be given by the administration with the exception of emergencies. The use of business leave will be allowed immediately preceding or following a school holiday, provided a substitute is available. In no instance shall more than two (2) teachers from Xxxx Xxxxx Middle School, two (2) teachers from College Place High School, and four (4) teachers from Xxxxx Elementary School be allowed business leave on the same day.

  • Catastrophic Leave Program Leave credits, as defined below, may be transferred from one (1) or more employees to another employee, on an hour-for-hour basis, in accordance with departmental policies upon the request of both the receiving employee and the transferring employee and upon approval of the employee's appointing authority, under the following conditions: A. The receiving employee is required to be absent from work due to injury or the prolonged illness of the employee, employee's spouse, registered domestic partner, a domestic partner listed on an “Affidavit for Enrollment of Domestic Partners,” submitted to employee benefits, parent or child, has exhausted all earned leave credits, including but not limited to sick leave, compensatory time, holiday credits and disability leave and is therefore facing financial hardship. B. The transfers must be for a minimum of four (4) hours and in whole hour increments thereafter. C. Transfers shall be allowed to cross-departmental lines in accordance with the policies of the receiving department. D. The total maximum leave credits received by an employee shall normally not exceed five hundred twenty (520) hours; however, if approved by his/her appointing authority, the total leave credits may be up to one thousand forty (1,040) hours. Total leave credits in excess of one thousand forty (1,040) hours will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the appointing authority subject to the approval of the Chief Administrative Officer. E. The transfers are irrevocable, and will be indistinguishable from other leave credits belonging to the receiving employee. Transfers will be subject to all taxes required by law. F. Leave credits that may be transferred under this program are defined as the transferring employee’s vacation credits or up to twenty-four (24) hours of sick leave per fiscal year. G. Transfers shall be administered according to the rules and regulations of the Auditor and Controller, and made on a form prescribed by the Auditor and Controller. Approvals of the receiving and donating employee, the donating employee's appointing authority and the receiving employee's appointing authority (in the case of an interdepartmental transfer) will be provided for on such form. H. This program is not subject to the Grievance Procedure of this Agreement.

  • Catastrophic Leave Bank The City agrees to establish a Catastrophic Leave Bank to assist employees who have exhausted accrued leave time due to a serious or catastrophic illness or injury. The Catastrophic Leave Bank (CLB) will allow the bargaining unit employees to donate time to affected employees within and outside the unit, so that he/she can remain in a paid status for a longer period of time, thus partially ameliorating the financial impact of the illness, injury or condition. This donated time will be placed in a CLB and drawn down from the CLB by the eligible employee. Eligibility To be eligible for this benefit, the receiving employee must: 1) Be a regular full time employee, 2) Have sustained or have an immediate family member who has sustained a life threatening or debilitating illness, injury or condition which may require confirmation by a physician, 3) Have exhausted all accumulated paid leave including vacation, holiday, sick leave, and/or compensatory time off, 4) Be unable to return to work for at least 30 days or in the case of the condition affecting the immediate family member, that member must be in need of prolonged and significant personal care; and 5) Conformed with the requirements of the Family Medical Leave Act and/or Worker's Compensation.

  • Domestic Violence The Company agrees to recognize that employees sometimes face situations of violence or abuse in their personal life that may affect their attendance or performance at work. For that reason, the Company and the Union agree, when there is adequate verification from a recognized professional (i.e. doctor, lawyer, registered counsellor), an employee who is in an abusive or violent situation will not be subjected to discipline if the absence can be linked to the abusive or violent situation. Absences which are not covered by sick leave or disability insurance will be granted as absent with permission without pay.

  • Catastrophic Leave The County will administer a Catastrophic Leave procedure designed to permit individual donations of annual leave, vacation, healthcare leave (8 hours maximum per fiscal year), compensatory and/or PIP leave time to an employee who is required to be on an extended unpaid leave due to a catastrophic medical condition or other serious circumstances.
