Accidental Permanent Total Disability definition

Accidental Permanent Total Disability means disability of the Life Assured as a result of bodily injury caused by an accident (a sudden unforeseen and involuntary event caused by external and visible means) and such injury shall within 180 days of its occurrence solely, directly and independently of any other cause, result in the Life Assured’s disability which must be total and permanent, and must result in at least one of the following:

Accidental Permanent Total Disability means disability as a result of bodily injury caused by an accident and such injury shall within 180 days of its occurrence solely, directly and independently of any other cause, result in the disability as defined in Section 4 below and subject to exclusions mentioned in Section 11 below.

Examples of Accidental Permanent Total Disability in a sentence

  • Compensation payable to beneficiary as per limits stated in the Policy schedule in connection with the Accidental death / Accidental Permanent Total Disability or death due to natural disaster as defined under definition section of the policy.

  • If We have accepted a claim under Section 2.1 – Accidental Death or Section 2.2 – Accidental Permanent Total Disability in respect of an Insured Person, then in addition to any amount payable under these Sections, We will pay onetime payment equal to the amount stated in the policy schedule for the said benefit to surviving dependent child(ren) of the Insured Person.

  • Insured Person’s Child(ren) will be eligible for benefit under this coverage provided that the dependent child(ren) is a full-time student in any recognized educational institute at the time of such Accidental Death or Accidental Permanent Total Disability of an Insured Person.

  • Provided enrolment is taken in any recognized educational / training / vocational institute as a full time/ part time student for getting future employment and enrollment in such institute should be after the occurrence of such Accidental Death or Accidental Permanent Total Disability of Primary Insured Person.

  • No Use of one hand and one foot, or Use of one hand or one foot and loss of sight of one eye.2cHemiplegia or Paraplegia or Quadriplegia For the purpose of Accidental Permanent Total Disability benefit -i.

  • Upon death or on Accidental Permanent Total Disability, if AAPTD cover has been opted or on first diagnosis of any one of the Critical Illness conditions covered, if ACI cover has been opted, the benefit under Section 3.1 above becomes payable on admission by the Company, of claim lodged by the Beneficiary for the said benefit.

  • This is applicable only for Benefits - Accidental Death (Section 2.1); Accidental Permanent Total Disability (Section 2.2); Accidental Permanent Partial Disability (Section 2.3).

  • Insured Person’s child(ren) will be eligible for benefit under this coverage provided that the dependent child is a full-time student in any recognized Educational Institute at the time of such Accidental Death or Accidental Permanent Total Disability of an Insured Person.

  • Permanent total disability means incapacity because of accidental injury or occupational disease to earn any wages in any employment for which the employee may become physically suited and reasonably fitted by education, training or experience, including vocational rehabilitation; loss of both hands, or both feet, or both legs, or both eyes, or any two thereof, shall constitute permanent total disability;

  • Permanent and Total Disability means any medically determinable physical or mental impairment rendering an individual unable to engage in any substantial gainful activity, which disability can be expected to result in death or which has lasted or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than 12 months.

  • Disability/Disabled means because of Injury or Sickness you are unable to perform the material duties of your Regular Occupation, or are receiving disability benefits under the Employer's plan, during the initial 9 months of Disability. Thereafter, you must be unable to perform all of the material duties of any occupation which you may reasonably become qualified based on education, training or experience, or are subject to the terms of a Rehabilitation Plan approved by the Insurance Company.

  • Permanent Disablement means a disability falling under one of the items of disablement listed in the scale of compensation in this Policy under Section 1, which was caused by an Accident, as long as the disability lasts for twelve (12) consecutive months from the date of the Accident and at the expiry of that period our appointed Registered Medical Practitioner confirms that the disability is not going to improve after twelve (12) months.

  • Permanent partial disability means a permanent disability

  • Disability or Disabled means that during the Elimination Period and your Own Occupation Period you are, as a result of Physical Disease, Injury, Mental Disorder, Substance Abuse or Pregnancy, unable to perform one or more of the Material Duties of your Own Occupation, and, due to such inability, your Work Earnings are less than 80% of your Indexed Predisability Earnings, and you are incapable of earning 80% or more of your Indexed Predisability Earnings. Your Work Earnings may be Deductible Income. See the “LTD Benefit Calculation” and “Deductible Income” sections.

  • total disablement means such disablement, whether of a temporary or permanent nature, as incapacitates a workman for all work which he was capable of performing at the time of the accident resulting in such disablement:

  • Recurrent Disability means a Disability caused by an Injury or Sickness that is the same as, or related to, the cause of a prior Disability for which Monthly Benefits were payable. A Recurrent Disability will be treated as follows.

  • Severe Intellectual Disability means a level of functioning severely below age expectations whereby in a consistent basis the student is incapable of giving evidence of understanding and responding in a positive manner to simple directions expressed in the child's primary mode of communication and cannot in some manner express basic wants and needs.

  • mental disability means one or more mental disorders, as defined in the most recent edition of the American Psychiatric Association's "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders", or a record of or regarding a person as having one or more such disorders;

  • Temporary total disability means disability that results in the inability of an injured employee to earn wages as a result of a compensable injury for which disability benefits may not exceed a cumulative total of one hundred four weeks or the date the injured employee reaches maximum medical improvement or maximum medical recovery, whichever occurs first.

  • Disability means total and permanent disability as defined in Section 22(e)(3) of the Code.

  • Partial Disability or "Partially Disabled" means you, as a result of Injury or Sickness, are able to:

  • Physical disability means a severe, chronic condition that is attributable to a physical impairment that results in substantial limitations of physical functioning in three or more of the following areas of major life activities: self-care, receptive and expressive language, learning, mobility, self-direction, capacity for independent living, and economic self-sufficiency.

  • Disability Termination means termination by the Company of the Executive’s employment by reason of the Executive’s incapacitation due to disability. The Executive will be deemed to be incapacitated due to disability if at the end of any month the Executive is unable to perform substantially all of the Executive’s duties under this Agreement in the normal and regular manner due to illness, injury or mental or physical incapacity, and has been unable so to perform for either (i) three consecutive full calendar months then ending, or (ii) 90 or more of the normal working days during the 12 consecutive full calendar months then ending. Nothing in this paragraph alters the Company’s obligations under applicable law, which may, in certain circumstances, result in the suspension or alteration of the foregoing time periods.

  • Developmental disability means that condition defined in RCW 71A.10.020(5);

  • Permanently Disabled means a person who meets the definition in Iowa Code section 483A.4.

  • Intellectual disability means "intellectual disability" as defined in OAR 411-320-0020 and described in OAR 411-320-0080.

  • Disability retirement for plan 1 members, means the period

  • Disabled or Disability means Disabled or Disability within the meaning of Section 409A of the Code and the regulations thereunder. Generally, this means that the Participant is unable to engage in any substantial gainful activity by reason of any medically determinable physical or mental impairment which can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than 12 months, or is, by reason of any medically determinable physical or mental impairment which can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than 12 months, receiving income replacement benefits for a period of not less than three months under an accident and health plan covering Employees of the Employer.

  • Child with a disability means a child who, by reason of any of the following, needs special education and related services:

  • Total and Permanent Disability means that the Optionee is unable to engage in any substantial gainful activity by reason of any medically determinable physical or mental impairment which can be expected to result in death or which has lasted, or can be expected to last, for a continuous period of not less than one year.
