Alternative Benefits definition

Alternative Benefits means either:
Alternative Benefits means Covered Benefits that are provided by a program, plan or arrangement other than this Plan. Accordingly, for example, an “Alternative Cash Severance Benefit” means a Cash Severance Benefit that is an Alternative Benefit; an “Alternative Continued Medical Benefit” means a Continued Medical Benefit that is an Alternative Benefit; and an “Alternative Continued Life Insurance Benefit” means a Continued Life Insurance Benefit that is an Alternative Benefit. Notwithstanding the foregoing, a benefit that is designated an Alternative Benefit in a Participant’s Participation Notice shall be deemed to be an Alternative Benefit with respect to such Participant, and a benefit that is designated as not an Alternative Benefit in a Participant’s Participation Notice shall not be deemed to be an Alternative Benefit with respect to such Participant. Any benefit provided to a Participant other than by this Plan which is not addressed in the Participant’s Participation Notice shall be deemed to be an Alternative Benefit if such benefit is described in the first sentence of this Section 2(a).
Alternative Benefits means an award granted by the Committee under the Comerica Incorporated 2006 Amended and Restated Long-Term Incentive Plan, as it may be amended and/or restated from time to time, or its successor plan, to a Participant where the Committee, in its sole discretion, expressly grants such award in lieu of an award earned but not paid for a particular performance period under the Comerica Incorporated 2016 Management Incentive Plan, as it may be amended and/or restated from time to time, or a successor or predecessor plan.

Examples of Alternative Benefits in a sentence

  • The Plan Participant may qualify for Alternative Benefits, at the Claims Administrator’s discretion, based on various criteria, including diagnosis, severity, length of illness, and proposed or rendered treatment.

  • Alternative Benefits provided under this Article are provided in lieu of the Benefits to which the Plan Participant is entitled under this Benefit Plan and accrue to the maximum Benefit limitations under this Plan.

  • Unless expressly agreed upon by the Claims Administrator, all terms and conditions of this Benefit Plan, including, but not limited to, maximum Benefit limitations and all other limitations and exclusions, will be and shall remain in full force and effect if a Plan Participant is receiving Alternative Benefits.

  • The Plan Participant receives care, treatment, services, or supplies for the medical condition that are excluded under this Benefit Plan, and that are not specified as Alternative Benefits approved by the Claims Administrator.

  • The Plan Participant’s Alternative Benefits will be terminated upon any of the following occurrences: The Claims Administrator determines, in their sole discretion, that the Plan Participant is no longer a suitable candidate for the Alternative Benefits or that the Alternative Benefits are no longer necessary.

  • The Oregon Health Plan demonstration has two components, offered directly through OHP Plus and the Alternative Benefits Plan.

  • However, a Participant may elect in his or her Agreement to convert his or her benefits hereunder, into one of the Alternative Benefits described in Section 3.3(b) and (c).

  • Waiver Request Item #2: Alternative Benefits for Specific Populations Traditional Medicaid benefits do not always meet the needs of certain adults with disabilities and chronic conditions.

  • Additional Benefits means quantifiable and verifiable enhancement of conservation of biodiversity and/or improvement of local livelihoods realized as a result of implementation of the REDD activities;

In order to facilitate financial security in retirement, these benefits may take the form of payments for life, payments made for a temporary period, a lump sum, or any combination thereof;

  • Gap medical benefits means the benefits (if any) payable in respect of medical expenses that are less than, greater than or equal to the schedule fee, provided always that the medical expenses relate to a professional service that:

  • Change in Control Benefit means the benefit set forth in Section 4.1 below.

  • Relevant Benefits means any pension, annuity, lump sum, gratuity or other like benefit given or to be given on retirement or death, or in anticipation of retirement.

  • Benefits Continuation Period has the meaning set forth in Section 6.01(b).

  • Change in Control Severance Benefits means the benefits payable pursuant to Section 3 of this Agreement.

  • Fringe benefits means the amount of:

  • Severance Benefits means the payment of severance compensation as provided in Section 3.3 herein.

  • Death Benefit means the insurance amount payable under the Certificate at death of the Insured, subject to all Certificate provisions dealing with changes in the amount of insurance and reductions or termination for age or retirement.   • Severance Benefit means the payment of severance compensation as provided in Article III.

  • Fringe benefit means health insurance, a retirement benefit received under a pension plan or defined contribution plan, a paid vacation day, a paid holiday, sick leave, or any other similar employee benefit provided by an employer.

  • Separation Benefits has the meaning accorded such term in Section 3.04.

  • Lump Sum means the total sum which will have become payable to the Contractor by the Principal upon completion of the Works.

  • SERP Benefit means the benefit described in Section 5.1.

  • Medical Benefits means the monthly fair market value of benefits provided to the Employee and the Employee’s dependents under the major medical, dental and vision benefit plans sponsored and maintained by the Company, at the level of coverage in effect for such persons immediately prior to the Employee’s termination of employment date. The “monthly fair market value” of such benefits shall be equal to the monthly cost as if such persons elected COBRA continuation coverage at such time at their own expense.
