Assistance Eligible Individual definition

Assistance Eligible Individual means any Qualified Beneficiary who elects COBRA continuation coverage, and has satisfied all of the following conditions:
Assistance Eligible Individual means any qualified beneficiary who elects COBRA continuation coverage, and has satisfied all of the following conditions: � The qualifying event o ccurred at any time during the period that begins with September 1, 2008, and ends with May 31, 2010, and the qualified beneficiary was eligible for COBRA continuation cov erage during this period; � The covered employee or qualified beneficiary must elect COBRA or applicable state con tinuation coverage; � The qualifying event with respect to the COBRA continuation c overage consists of the involun tary termination of the covered employee’s employment and occurred during such period; and � The covered employee must have had a modifie d adjusted gross income of less than $145,000, if single, or$290,000, if married filing jointly, for each tax year in which the subsidy is received. Note that the available COBRA subsidy will be reduced for years in which the covered employee’s gross income exceeds$125,000 (or $250,000 for joint returns). *Important Note: If you experienced a reduction of hours during the period that begins with September 1, 2008 and ends with May 31, 2010, followed by an involuntary termination of employment on or after March 2, 2010 and by May 31, 2010, then your termination will constitute a qualifying event and you are entitled to a new election period for COBRA continuation coverage. Under the new election period, COBRA continuation coverage (but not the 18-month COBRA period) and the 15 months of subsidy would begin starting with the first period of coverage after the termination.

Examples of Assistance Eligible Individual in a sentence

  • It must include the information described above and be provided to any Assistance Eligible Individual (or any individual who would be an Assistance Eligible Individual if a COBRA continuation coverage election were in effect) who: had a qualifying event at any time from September 1, 2008 through February 16, 2009; AND either did not elect COBRA continuation coverage or who elected but subsequently discontinued COBRA.

  • Eligible patient means an individual who meets all of the following conditions:

  • Eligible Employee means full-time and part-time employees in the bargaining unit who have completed four hundred and fifty (450) hours of service and who are not prohibited from contributing to the Plan by legislation or the Plan rules because of their age or because they are in receipt of a pension from the Plan.

  • Eligible Persons or “Households” means one or more natural persons or a family who pays 30 percent of their household income toward their monthly rent and is determined by Grantee to be eligible for rental assistance under this Agreement.
