Elementary Specialists. On half-days with building time in the afternoon, elementary P.E., Music, and Library will be canceled to provide time for elementary specialists throughout the District to collaborate and participate in job-alike meetings. On half-days with building time in the afternoon, after the students have been released, 30 minutes of planning time, contiguous with lunch, will be provided for all other building-based certificated staff.

More Definitions of Elementary Specialists

Elementary Specialists. Those teachers employed to teach Art, Physical Education, or Music in the Elementary grades.
Elementary Specialists means those bargaining unit members who are certificated/licensed to teach art, physical education, or music.
Elementary Specialists. Standard staffing procedures call for one elementary homeroom per specialist class period. The parties recognize, however, that circumstances may exist, due to limited facilities and/or scheduling possibilities, which require the District to schedule more than one homeroom per elementary specialist class. Specialist teaching a combined class containing forty (40) or more students for an extended period of time (more than five (5) days) will be assigned an additional licensed teacher. Exceptions to this provision include elementary band classes. Any teacher teaching combined classes on a temporary basis will receive a prep substitution stipend per the requirements set forth in of Article 8, Section 6.
Elementary Specialists. A specialist teacher who agrees to take on an entire other class in addition to their regularly scheduled class, will receive 20% of the substitute daily rate of pay for each hour they have an extra class (not including their prep or lunch time). Example: If the substitute daily rate of pay is $185 the teacher will receive $37 for each hour they teach the other class(es) that day in addition to their regular pay. In addition, if that same teacher waives their prep time to also sub that day, they shall receive $50 for that hour of prep.
