Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative definition

Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative means a coalition of governments, companies, civil societies, investors and international organizations, which aims to strengthen governance by improving transparency and accountability in the extractive industries;
Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative and the acronym “EITI” mean the initiative supporting improved governance in resource-rich countries through the full publication and verification of company payments and government revenues from oil, gas and mining, and referred to in paragraph 3 of Part A of Schedule 1 to this Agreement.
