Faculty Workload, definition

Faculty Workload, in this policy, means tThe formal, documented articulation of a faculty member’s work responsibilities for an academic term or academic year, as determined by the faculty member’s unit administrator in conversationconsultation with the faculty member.
Faculty Workload, refers to all Faculty activities that contribute to the accomplishment of Department- and College-related activities and responsibilities. These include teaching and instruction, service to the College or Department, and creative practice, research, and scholarship.

Examples of Faculty Workload, in a sentence

  • Inasmuch as FTNTT Faculty members are employed annually and on a year-by-year basis primarily to provide instructional services as defined in the University's workload/teaching load policy as referenced in Article IX (Faculty Workload) and/or other services to the University, they have no required committee or other service obligations beyond those directly related to their responsibilities as specified in their letters of appointment or workload statements.

  • It is instructive to compare NSHE’s workload expectations with the recommendations of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) in its Statement on Faculty Workload.

  • Teaching load for all faculty is determined in accordance with the University’s Faculty Workload Policy (see Appendix A.) Department personnel or governance documents also address teaching load and other aspects of workload.

  • The purposes of the Salisbury University Policy on Faculty Workload and Responsibilities are to promote optimal performance by faculty in meeting the needs and expectations of students and other clienteles and to provide mechanisms that will ensure public accountability for that performance.

  • SOCs in Faculty Workload: No faculty member shall be required to teach an SOC as part of their load, unless it becomes necessary for a full-time or part-time priority-hiring list faculty to fill their workload.

  • Workload is derived from each faculty member’s work assignment for a specific time period- normally an academic semester, which is consistent with University Rule 12.03.99C1 Faculty Workload and University Rule 12.03.99.C1.01 Assignment of Faculty Workload Credit.

  • In the event that a faculty member alleges an infraction of Article 13 (Faculty Workload), a workload grievance may take one of two forms, focusing either on the academic value decisions leading to the workload determination or on the process used to arrive at the workload assignment.

  • All faculty members are expected to engage in professional development activities, which may include direction or participation in grants or other research/scholarship as described in the USM Board of Regents Policy on Faculty Workload and Responsibilities, II-1.25.

  • Faculty teaching one or more graduate level course(s) in a given term should consult Section 6.4.3 Graduate Faculty Workload to determine the appropriate calculation of workload.

Related to Faculty Workload,

  • Workload means a special education teacher’s total number of minutes required for all due process responsibilities, including direct and indirect services, evaluation and reevaluation time, management of individualized education programs (IEPs), travel time, parental contact, and other services required in the IEPs.

  • Contract Work means everything required to be furnished and done by the Contractor by any one or more of the parts of the Contract referred to in Article 1, except Extra Work as hereinafter defined.

  • job work means any treatment or process undertaken by a person on goods belonging to another registered person and the expression “job worker” shall be construed accordingly;

  • Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) means an individual who instructs and assists individuals in the alcohol testing process and who operates the EBT.

  • Contractor means the individual or entity, that has entered into this contract with the Commonwealth.

  • The Work means the work or works to be executed or done under this contract.

  • Work Site means the site where the Work is being performed.

  • Scope of Work means the description of Services and Deliverables specified in the Contract and as may be amended.

  • Contractor Project Manager means the employee identified in a Statement of Work as the Contractor project manager.

  • The Services means those services ancillary to the supply of the Goods, such as transportation and insurance, and any other incidental services, such as installation, commissioning, provision of technical assistance, training, and other such obligations of the Supplier covered under the Contract.
