Human Subjects definition

Human Subjects means individuals whose physiologic or behavioral characteristics and responses are the objects of study in a research project. Under the Federal regulations for the protection of human subjects, human subjects are defined as living individuals about whom an investigator conducting research obtains: (1) data through intervention or interaction with the individual; or (2) identifiable private information (45 CFR 46.102(f)).

  • Home health aide means an individual employed by a home health agency to provide home health services under the direction of a registered nurse or therapist.

  • Health and Safety Plan means a documented plan which addresses hazards identified and includes safe work procedures to mitigate, reduce or control the hazards identified;

  • Chemical dependency means the physiological and psychological addiction to a controlled drug or substance, or to alcohol. Dependence upon tobacco, nicotine, caffeine or eating disorders are not included in this definition.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Act means the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act No 85 of 1993);

  • Human service zone means a county or consolidated group of counties administering human services within a designated area in accordance with an agreement or plan approved by the department.
