Level II services definition

Level II services means the provision of special education and related services to children with disabilities for 50% or more of the instructional school day (excluding intermission for meals). The time that a child receives special education services is calculated on the basis of special education services described in the individualized education program, rather than the location of services.
Level II services means services designed to assist cli- ents whose needs are principally derived from intransigent and severe mental health disorders and are best met by intense, extended psychiatric or psychotherapeutic treatment in combina- tion with a continuum of other individual and family support ser- vices.

Examples of Level II services in a sentence

  • Effective for dates of service on or after October 1, 2009, qualifying PICU Level II services with current per diem rates that are less than the PICU Level II specialty group rate shall have their per diem rates adjusted to equal 100 percent of the specialty peer group rate.
