Natural Open Space definition

Natural Open Space means the areas of open space which are to remain in a natural state with a minimum amount of maintenance, but shall not include areas of outside storage, parking areas, traffic aisles, driveways or ramps, or Building Area, Natural Open Space areas shall be subject to the requirements of the Maintenance and Occupancy (Property Standards) By-Law as amended from time to time for the Municipality and shall be kept clear of all weeds and natural growth which is prohibited by other Municipal by-laws. Areas of Natural Open Space may include areas of Landscaped Open Space.

Natural Open Space means land in a predominantly open and undeveloped condition that is suitable for any of the following: natural areas; wildlife and native plant habitat; important wetlands or watershed lands; stream corridors; passive, low-impact activities; little or no land disturbance; or trails for non-motorized activities.

Natural Open Space. (NOS) means a zoning district that includes areas consisting of primarily natural and undisturbed landscape set aside for the purpose of preservation or conservation of natural resources, habitats, wildlife and/or features or scenic/aesthetic values. This zoning district is appropriate for areas consisting of, but not limited to, natural vegetation, arroyos, mountains and other geologic landforms, historic/cultural sites, water bodies/wetlands/riparian areas, wildlife habitats, hillside slopes, desert flatlands, ridgelines, scenic buffer areas, and trails. Related to Natural Open Space

  • Open space means undeveloped land, a naturally landscaped area, or a formal or man-made landscaped area that provides a connective link or a buffer between other resources.
