An employee holding a Temporary Class Certificate of Registration upon presenting proof of current General Class Certificate of Registration by the College of Nurses of Ontario shall be given the salary of the registered staff nurse as provided in this Article retroactive to the date of sitting the certification examination or the date of last hire, whichever is later.
For an employee with at least two (2) years full-time or equivalent service (e.g., 3,000 hours of part-time RN service), upon application in writing by the Union to the Employer, an unpaid leave of absence may be granted to such employee selected for a secondment or a temporary staff position with the Ontario Nurses' Association.
Leave of absence for board members of the Ontario Nurses' Association will be separate from the Union leave provided in (a) above.
An employee who is elected to the office of President of the Ontario Nurses' Association shall be granted upon request leave(s) of absence without loss of seniority and benefits.
An employee who serves as Local Co-coordinator for the Ontario Nurses Association shall be granted leave of absence without pay up to a total of thirty-five (35) days annually.
