Physically handicapped definition

Physically handicapped means a condition which causes the restricted use of his or her extremities by an individual or affects other bodily functions of an individual and which require the specialized training, habilitation or rehabilitation services provided by a group home;
Physically handicapped means a severe orthopedic impairment or an autistic condition which is manifested by severe communication and other developmental and educational problems; or having limited strength, vitality or alertness, due to chronic or acute health problems such as a heart condition, tuberculosis, rheumatic fever, nephritis, asthma, sickle cell anemia, hemophilia, epilepsy, lead poisoning, leukemia, or diabetes, which adversely affects a child's educational performance.
Physically handicapped means one who is blind or deaf or has lost an arm or a leg or the use of any of these limbs or educable mentally retarded or is orthopedically handicapped permanently as per definition given below, provided that a certificate about any of these handicapped shall be produced from the Civil Surgeon / Chief Medical Officer of the District.
