Examples of Protective placement in a sentence
Protective placement is a court order, under which a person under guardianship based on a finding of incompetence, who is at risk of serious harm in the absence of residential placement and services, may be ordered to live in a particular residence or to enter a residential facility, for purposes of receiving care and support services.
Protective placement may not be used for placements for acute care for mental illness, or for placements to psychiatric hospitals.Protective placement may be used if there is a need for admission to a facility for which a guardian cannot give consent, such as long-term nursing home care or care in a large residential facility (see Part XI.B).
