Recuperative care definition

Recuperative care means care anticipated to be pro- vided for a period of 90 days or less for a resident whose physician has certified that he or she is convalescing or recuperating from an illness or a medical treatment.

Recuperative care or “Medical Respite Care” means short-term care and case management 27 provided to individuals recovering from an acute illness or injury that generally does not necessitate 28 hospitalization, but would be exacerbated by the individuals’ living conditions (e.g., street, shelter, or 29 other unsuitable places).

Recuperative care or “Recuperative Care Day” means post-hospital room and board 28 provided by a community-based provider to MSN Patients transitioning out of CONTRACTOR’s acute 29 care facility. Additional health care services may be arranged by the CCU to be provided by a home 30 health care and/or durable medical equipment providers, which services shall be reimbursed separately 31 by the MSN Program.
