Reference check definition

Reference check means the gathering of information about candidate’s past history from people with whom such candidate has been associated.
Reference check is a score given by members of an interview team from recorded answers done by one (1) member of the team based on a prepared set of questions answered by at least two (2) referees.
Reference check means contacting a previous employer, supervisor or teacher to learn more about a potential volunteer or employee’s background, experience or skills.
