Reference check definition

Reference check means the gathering of information about candidate’s past history from people with whom such candidate has been associated.

Reference check is a score given by members of an interview team from recorded answers done by one (1) member of the team based on a prepared set of questions answered by at least two (2) referees.

Reference check has the meaning set out in Section 2.

Examples of Reference check in a sentence

• Reference check will be made only for applicants considered as finalists.

• Reference check information may disqualify contracted personnel from consideration for any CalSTRS employment when it reveals or confirms that the contracted personnel lack one or more of the general qualifications for employment such as honesty, integrity, and/or good judgment.
