Reference zone definition

Reference zone means the space between two vertical longitudinal planes, 400 mm apart and symmetrical with respect to the H-point, and defined by rotation from vertical to horizontal of the head-form apparatus, described in UN Regulation No. 21 Annex 1. The apparatus shall be positioned as described in that annex to UN Regulation No. 21 and set to the maximum length of 840 mm.
Reference zone means the space between two vertical longitudinal planes, 400 mm apart and symmetrical with respect to the H point, and defined by rotation from vertical to horizontal of the head form apparatus, as described in Regulation No. 21, Annex 1. The apparatus shall be positioned as described in that Annex to Regulation No. 21 and set to the maximum length of 840 mm.
Reference zone means the space between two vertical longitudinal planes, 400 mm apart and symmetrical with respect to the H-point, and defined by rotation from vertical to horizontal of the head-form apparatus whose dimensions from the pivotal point of the hip to the top of the head is continuously adjustable between 736 mm and 840 mm.

More Definitions of Reference zone

Reference zone means the space between two vertical longitudinal planes, 400 mm apart and symmetrical with respect to the H-point, and defined by rotation of the apparatus, described in Annex II of Directive 74/60/EEC, from vertical to horizontal. The apparatus shall be positioned as described in that Annex and set to the maximum length of 840 mm.
Reference zone means the space between two vertical longitudinal planes, 400 mm apart and symmetrical with respect to the H-point, and defined by rotation from vertical to horizontal of the headform apparatus, described in Regulation No. 21, Annex 1. The apparatus shall be positioned as described in that annex to Regulation No. 21 and set to its maximum length of 840 mm and its minimum length of 736 mm for residual limitation of said space;
Reference zone means the head impact zone as defined in Annex II except:
Reference zone is the head impact zone as defined in annex 1 to this Regulation, or at the choice of the manufacturer, according to annex 8, excluding the following areas: (see annex 10, explanatory notes, paragraphs 2.3. and 2.3.1.)”
Reference zone means the area around a store having the radius from the centre point of the store specified in column 2 of the relevant Supplementary Table;
Reference zone means the head-impact zone as defined in annex 1 to this Regulation. Alternatively and at the choice of the applicant and based on occupants protected by the restraint systems installed in the vehicle type it is permitted to define a reference zone according to annex 8 of this Regulation. In both cases the following areas are excepted:
Reference zone means the space between two vertical longitudinal planes, 400 mm and symmetrical with respect to the H point and defined by rotation from the vertical to the horizontal of the head form apparatus. This consists of a spherical head, 165 mm in diameter, and an arrangement by which the dimensions from the pivotal point of the hip to the top of head sphere is continuously adjustable between 736 mm and 840 mm. This should be set to a maximum length of 840 mm and positioned for each seating position for which the manufacturer has made provision as given below :
