Rail Safety Act means the Rail Safety Act 1998 (WA);
Quasi-Security means an arrangement or transaction described in paragraph (b) below.
Occupational Health and Safety Act means the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act No 85 of 1993);
Equity Security means a security of an issuer that carries a residual right to participate in the earnings of the issuer and, on the liquidation or winding up of the issuer, in its assets;
Drug abuse means any pattern of pathological use of drugs that causes impairment in social or occupational functioning, or that produces physiological dependency evidenced by physical tolerance or by physical symptoms when it is withdrawn.
Food Security Act means the Food Security Act of 1985, 7 U.S.C. §1631, as amended, and the regulations promulgated thereunder.
Safety Requirements means Prudent Electrical Practices, CPUC General Order No. 167, Contractor Safety Program Requirements, and all applicable requirements of Law, PG&E, the Utility Distribution Company, the Transmission Provider, Governmental Approvals, the CAISO, CARB, NERC and WECC.
Traffic control signal means a device, whether manually, electrically, or mechanically operated, by which traffic is alternately directed to stop and to proceed.
Air pollution control equipment means a mechanism, device, or contrivance used to control or prevent air pollution, that is not, aside from air pollution control laws and administrative regulations, vital to production of the normal product of the source or to its normal operation.
International air transportation means transportation by air between a place in the United States and a place outside the United States or between two places both of which are outside the United States.
National Ambient Air Quality Standards or “NAAQS” means national ambient air quality standards that are promulgated pursuant to Section 109 of the Act, 42 U.S.C. § 7409.
Safety-sensitive position means a job, including any supervisory or management position, in which an impairment caused by drug or alcohol usage would threaten the health or safety of any person.
Dangerous drug means any of the following:
Federal Aviation Act means subtitle VII of Title 49 of the United States Code, or any successor provision.
Safety Convention means the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974 (a copy of the English text of the articles of which, and of part of the annex to which, is set forth in Schedule 4), as affected by any amendment, other than an amendment objected to by Australia, made under Article VIII of that Convention and, after the date on which the Protocol of 1978 relating to the Safety Convention enters into force for Australia, as also affected by that Protocol;
Safety means any product which, under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use including duration and, where applicable, putting into service, installation and maintenance requirements, does not present any risk or only the minimum risks compatible with the product's use, considered to be acceptable and consistent with a high level of protection for the safety and health of persons.
Safety zone means the area officially set apart within a roadway for the exclusive use of
Dangerous weapon means any weapon, device, instrument, material or substance which under the circumstances in which it is used, attempted to be used or threatened to be used, is readily capable of causing death or serious physical injury.
Pollution prevention means any activity that through process changes, product reformulation or redesign, or substitution of less polluting raw materials, eliminates or reduces the release of air pollutants (including fugitive emissions) and other pollutants to the environment prior to recycling, treatment, or disposal; it does not mean recycling (other than certain “in-process recycling” practices), energy recovery, treatment, or disposal.
Safety Plan means a written document that has procedures, requirements, or standards related to safety which the pool staff shall follow. The safety plan shall include training and emergency response procedures.
Safety Authorisation and “deemed Safety Authorisation” have the meanings given to “safety authorisation” and “deemed safety authorisation” by the Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006;
Occupational Safety and Health Law means any Legal Requirement designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions and to reduce occupational safety and health hazards, and any program, whether governmental or private (including those promulgated or sponsored by industry associations and insurance companies), designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions.
Safety Standards means all laws, union rules and trade or industry custom or codes of any kind whatsoever, in effect from the date of this Agreement through Final Acceptance of the construction work, pertaining to worker safety and accident prevention applicable to the Project and/or the construction work (including, but not limited to, rules, regulations and standards adopted pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, as amended from time to time).
MHLW means the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and any successor agency thereto.
air traffic control unit means a generic term meaning variously, area control centre, approach control unit or aerodrome control tower;
health and safety specification means a site, activity or project specific document prepared by the client pertaining to all health and safety requirements related to construction work;
