Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness definition

Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness means Bodily Injury or Sickness which requires treatment by a Medical Practitioner and which results in the Insured Person being certified by such Medical Practitioner as being dangerous to life and unfit to travel or continue with his original journey. When ‘Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness’ is applied to the Insured Person’s Immediate Family Member, it means injury or sickness certified as being dangerous to life by a Medical Practitioner and which results in the Insured Person’s discontinuation or cancellation of his original journey.
Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness means injury or sickness certified as being dangerous to life by a legally qualified Physician.
Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness means, when applied to the Insured, is one which requires immediate treatment by a physician and which results in the Insured being certified by that physician as being dangerous to life and requiring immediate medical treatment and unfit to travel or continue with his/her original journey. When applied to Immediate Family Member, it shall mean injury or sickness certified as being dangerous to life and requiring immediate medical treatment by physician and which actually results in the Insured’s discontinuation of the journey.

Examples of Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness in a sentence

  • Death, Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness of (a) the Insured Person’s Immediate Family Members or Close Business Partner, or (b) the travel companion of the Insured Person who is also insured under the same Policy of the Insured Person.

  • Unexpected death, Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness of the Insured Insured’s travelling companion and Insured’s Immediate Family Member.

  • Death, Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness of the Insured Person’s Immediate Family Members;This coverage Section 2 -Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption is effective only if this insurance is purchased before the Insured Person becomes aware of any circumstances which can lead to the disruption or interruption of the Insured Journey.

  • Death, Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness of the Insured Person, or Immediate Family Member of the Insured Person causing the Insured Person unable to travel under this Policy.

  • Death, Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness of the Insured Person, Immediate Family Members, Business Partner or Travel Companion who is assigned as room-mate causing the Insured Person unable to travel under the Policy.

  • If the Insured Person sustains a Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness and is hospitalized during the period of insurance for the Journey and is unable to return to work under the Relevant Employment Agreement as recommended by a Medical Practitioner for at least seven (7) days, the Company will pay a weekly income benefit of HK$1,000 for each full week that the Insured Person is unable to return to work.

  • Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness shall mean, when applied to the Insured Person, bodily injury or sickness which requires treatment by a Medical Practitioner and certified by that Medical Practitioner as being dangerous to life of the Insured Person and results in the Insured Person unfit to travel or continue with his original Insured Journey.

Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness means Bodily Injury or Sickness which requires emergency treatment or surgical operation by a Medical Practitioner and having to be Confined in a Hospital for not less than a period of 48 consecutive hours and which results in the Insured Person or the travel companion of the Insured Person under this Policy being certified by such Medical Practitioner as being unfit to travel or continue with his original journey. When ‘Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness’ is applied to the Insured Person’s Immediate Family Members or Close Business Partner, it means injury or sickness certified as being dangerous to life by a Medical Practitioner and which results in the Insured Person’s discontinuation or cancellation of his original journey.

When Serious Bodily Injury or Sickness is applied to the Insured Person’s Immediate Family Member, it shall mean Injury or Sickness certified as being dangerous to life by a Qualified and Licensed/Registered Medical Practitioner and which results in the Insured Person’s discontinuation or cancellation of his Insured Journey.

  • Serious bodily injury means bodily injury which involves a substantial risk of death, extreme physical pain, protracted obvious disfigurement or protracted loss or impairment of the function of a bodily member, organ or mental faculty.
