Year 2000 Compatible definition

Year 2000 Compatible means that upon the occurrence of the year 2000, all information systems or items that store, process, record, incorporate or present calendar dates shall lose no functionality, shall continue to operate without error, and shall accurately and automatically process all data pertaining to the introduction of any and all dates and date related data.
Year 2000 Compatible means that the Computer Systems to the extent required for their particular use (i) correctly perform date data century recognition, and calculations that accommodate same century and multi-century formulas and date values; (ii) operate or are expected to operate on a basis comparable to their current operation during and after calendar year 2000 A.D., including but not limited to leap years; and (iii) shall not end abnormally or provide invalid or incorrect results as a result of date data which represents or references different centuries or more than one century.
Year 2000 Compatible means that neither performance nor functionality is affected by dates prior to, during, spanning or after January 1, 2000, and shall include, but not be limited to: (i) accurately processing (including, but not limited to, calculating, comparing and sequencing) date/time data from, into and between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and the years 1999 and 2000 and leap year calculations; (ii) functioning without error, interruption or decreased performance relating to such date/time data; (iii) accurately processing such date/time data when used in combination with other Year 2000 Compatible technology; (iv) accurate date/time data century recognition; (v) calculations that accurately use same-century and multi-century formulas and date/time values; (vi) date/time interface values that reflect the correct century; and (vii) processing, storing, receiving and outputting all date/time data in a format that accurately indicates the century of the date/time data.

Year 2000 Compatible. (and variations thereof) means, with respect to any Computer System, that such Computer System (I) records, stores, processes and provides true and accurate dates and calculations for dates and spans of dates, (II) is and will be able to operate on a basis comparable to its current operation during and after calendar year 2000 A.D., including, but not limited to, leap years, and (III) shall not end abnormally or provide invalid or incorrect results as a result of date data which represents or references (or fails to represent or reference) different centuries or more than one century.
