Leap Year. On February 29th, each crew shall work an eight (8) hour shift to prevent one crew from working an adverse number of holidays. Xxxxx days will be taken as they fall. Employees shall not be compensated for working four (4) weeks without a Xxxxx xxx (only the weeks before and after February 29th). Employees shall be compensated at the straight time rate for the eight (8) hour shift on February 29th.
Leap Year. Off going shift works first 0700-1500 = 8 hours Shift not working adjacent shift 1500-2300 = 8 hours Shift working the next day 2300-0700 = 8 hours
Leap Year. During a leap year, 12-month bargaining unit members’ work year shall end one business day prior to the last business day in June.
Leap Year. When possible, February 29th will be worked by the Employee in the 40 hour shift position. If February 29th cannot be worked by this Employee, the following schedule will occur:

Leap Year. During leap years, the following schedule will be observed:
1) The shift that works February 28th will work on February 29th for the first eight (8) hours of the shift.
2) The shift that works March 2nd will work on February 29th for the middle eight (8) hours of the shift.
3) The shift the works on March 1st will work February 29th for the last eight (8) hours of the shift and continue with their regular shift on March 1st.
Leap Year. During a Leap Year, when February 29th falls on a regular work day, the District shall make the necessary adjustments to eleven (11) or twelve (12) month employee work calendars or eleven
Leap Year. In each leap year, on February 29th the twenty-four (24) hour shift will be rescheduled to avoid unfair holiday scheduling from year to year. There will be no additional pay for this rescheduling. February 29th shall be split into three (3) eight hour shifts with the platoon working on the 28th scheduled to work 0700 to 1500; the platoon working on February 27th scheduled to work 1500 – 2300, and the platoon working on March 1st scheduled to work from 2300 - 0700. All other conditions of scheduling, leave use and overtime shall continue to remain in force.
Leap Year. In order to adjust the leap year schedule all bargaining unit members working 24/48 hour shifts will work 3 eight hour shifts on February 29th of each leap year. These shifts will be 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., 3:30 – 11:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. the following day. These shifts will be filled by platoons in the most efficient manner possible. Regular platoon shift work will resume on March 1st at 7:30 a.m. The time worked will not be computed toward overtime or compensatory time accumulation for the affected pay period.
Leap Year. During Leap Year, full-time employees (monthly) will be allowed a non-paid floating holiday. Employees must have been hired prior to February 29th of the current Leap Year to qualify. The employee must make a request to their immediate supervisor a minimum of 5 days in advance. Those employees who work in a school setting and normally would require a substitute must schedule their floating holiday when a substitute is not needed (examples: winter break, spring break, summer). This floating holiday must be taken between July 1st and June 30th of the fiscal calendar following February 29th of the Leap Year. If an employee does not schedule and take the non-paid floating holiday it will not carry over to the next fiscal year. If the immediate supervisor refuses the non-paid floating holiday request, the employee may request a 2nd and 3rd optional day. If the immediate supervisor denies the 2nd and 3rd request, the employee will be paid for this holiday. If an employee terminates or is terminated prior to taking this day off, they will not receive compensation for this holiday.
Leap Year. The year during which an extra day is added in February (February 29th). Leap Year occurs in all years divisible by 400 or evenly divisible by 4 and not evenly divisible by 100. For example, 1996 is a Leap Year since it is divisible by 4 and not evenly divisible by 100. 2000 is a Leap Year since it is divisible by 400.
