BEFORE YOU GO CYCLING Voorbeeldclausules

BEFORE YOU GO CYCLING. Do not cycle if you are under the influence of drugs, medicines, alcohol or other substances that could affect your cycling ability. • Take good care the first time you use a new bicycle (electric or conventional). • A bicycle with power assist or a different type of brake may ride or respond differently from what you are accustomed to. • The pedals could be made slippery by weather conditions. Remember to adapt your footwear to the weather conditions so that you always have sufficient grip on the pedals. • Wear good, close-fitting clothes to avoid loose garments getting caught in moving or rotating parts of your bicycle. • Make sure that you are always clearly visible on the bicycle. Especially in the dark and in poor weather conditions. • Use front and back lights in the dark or in darker weather conditions, including mist. Make sure that your reflectors and lights are clean. • You are strongly advised to wear a cycling helmet that meets the NEN-EN 1078 standard. There are also countries where it is compulsory to wear a cycling helmet. You should therefore check whether it is compulsory to wear a cycling helmet in the country where you will be using the bicycle. • Check that your bicycle's lighting provides enough light for you to be seen clearly by other road users. • Check the tyre pressure. The correct pressure will be printed on the tyre itself, depending on its type and size. • Always check the brakes before you set out. Make sure that the nuts are still tight and that the brake cables are not unravelled or kinked. • Also check that the grips are firmly secure. Loose, worn grips must be replaced to avoid accidents. • Always fully raise the stand before you set off.
