Common use of A Bargaining Clause in Contracts

A Bargaining. Unit member on a full-time personal leave for at least one year shall have the option of signing a waiver which would provide that the period of leave will not be considered in counting the years toward tenure. Such a waiver signed by the individual will act automatically to extend the term of the current appointment for a period of time equal to the period of leave. A Bargaining Unit member on a full-time personal leave for less than one year or who requests reduced responsibilities, may request a waiver which would provide that the reappointment or tenure be considered during the terminal year.
