Common use of Accrual and Accumulation Clause in Contracts

Accrual and Accumulation. The rates of sick leave accrual described within this agreement are applicable to eligible state benefited employees only. An eligible, full-time employee shall accrue sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per pay period of continuous employment beginning with their date of eligibility. An employee being paid for less than eighty (80) hours in a pay period shall have his/her sick leave accrual pro-rated. Eligible employees on an unpaid military leave shall earn and accrue sick leave as though actually at work. An eligible employee who is appointed, reappointed or rehired to service with the Program within four years from the date of separation, provided they separated in good standing within Minnesota State government, or transfer without a break in service shall have his/her previous sick leave balance, if any, restored. However, any employee being reappointed or rehired after receiving severance pay shall not have his/her leave balance restored. The rates of sick leave accrual described within this agreement are applicable to eligible state benefited employees only.
